Purpose

So many people are out there searching….

“What’s my destiny?”                                              “How can I make a difference?”

“Who am I?”                                 “What was I created to do?”

“I feel like I am supposed to be doing something more, I just don’t know what?”

” How can I be successful?”                             “What am I going to be when I grow up?”

They are searching for PURPOSE.

If you’ve asked yourself any of these questions, know this –> You are not alone. Many people are troubled by trying to figure out what they are really meant to be.

I was praying for a friend the other day, she was really heavy on my heart as she has been desperately searching for quite some time now and weighed down by the unknown. In prayer I got a word from the Lord for her, it was powerful. After I re-read it, I said, “Lord, that wasn’t just for her, that was for me too, wasn’t it?” Well the more I read it and prayed about it, I realized that the word the Lord gave me was not just for her, not just for me, it was for everyone…..and I HAD to share it!

Here is what the Lord spoke to me:

“I’m calling out my righteous, calling them higher, calling them to their desires which I have placed in them. I hide your purpose in your passion. It’s deep, it may seem unrealistic to you, just a dream, but I am calling you to it. Step past the boundaries of your limitations into the unknown, step into my Glory. I haven’t called you to work in your own natural giftings, education and abilities, I’ve called you to step out, to rely completely on me. Trust me and watch my glory shine through you. I will equip you, teach you and give you everything you need to do the work I have called you to do. Stop trying to figure out how it will work in your mind and trust me. I have the wealth of the wicked laid up for the righteous and now is the time I am calling out my righteous and telling them to step into their inherited prosperity. Step into my glory and trust me, I will lead you to success and give you the desires of your heart.”

WOW….I was in tears and shaking by the end of this word that the Lord was pouring out. To top it off, the next Wednesday in church our Pastor gave a message that lined up exactly with the word the Lord gave me….I love how God works and confirms.

Now when you get, or someone gives you, a word from the Lord, you should always measure it by the Bible so here are a few scriptures that go along with the word the Lord gave me:

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

“Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? Luke 12:22-24

“A good person leaves an inheritance to his grandchildren, but the wealth of the wicked is reserved for the righteous.” Proverbs 13:22

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:33

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

So maybe what you’ve read resonates with you and you feel a stirring to discover your purpose. Here are a few steps to help you discover what God’s perfect will for your life is:

  1. Think about what you feel the most passionate about, really search your heart.
The Lord often hides your purpose in your passion, but it is usually something so deep in you, something that is almost even an unrealistic dream. Something that you feel completely un-equipped, uneducated and too insecure to do. Something that goes beyond your natural ability. God doesn’t call us to just do what we can do in our own natural ability and giftings, He calls us to something that we have to rely completely on Him. Something that requires us to step past the limitations of our own talents, knowledge and skills so that once we hit our limits and we step over that line into the unknown, His glory can take over and completely shine.

  2. Look at your life through the lenses of God in you.
What can you do, what can you accomplish, who can you be? Don’t look at your life through your own natural abilities or limitations, but look at what God can do through you. There are no limitations with God in you, the word says you can do all things through Christ. What are you truly passionate about? What is your hearts cry? Something that you really desire, but feel un-equipped, insecure and inadequate to do….right where your natural ability hits it’s limitations is where God’s glory starts. You’ll never walk fully into the glory of the calling that the Lord has for you if you are too afraid to step past your own limitations into the unknown. What God has for you is bigger than you and something that you can’t do without Him, He wants you to be completely reliant on him so that He can shine through your life.
  3. Now Go
Just take the first step towards your purpose. The Holy Spirit, our counselor, friend and teacher will lead you every step of the way. God promises this, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you” Psalms 32:8. If you aren’t sure what the first step is, go to the Lord in prayer and wait for His answer, that first thought that pops into your head is usually the voice of the Lord. It will just sound like your own thoughts, the Bible teaches, “For who has known the mind and purposes of the Lord, so as to instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes]” 1 Corinthians 2:16.Don’t get discouraged if you don’t get a full view of your purpose, sometimes the Lord just shows us a little at a time. I like to refer to Psalms 119:105, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Picture carrying a lamp down a dark road, you cant see the end, you can only see enough in front of you to move forward one step at a time.

The Lord is saying it is time, the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous and now is the time for his righteous to step into their kingdom inheritance! Let the redeemed of the Lord STAND UP & SAY SO (PS. 107).

With Love,

Kendra
