our trip to florida & back…a 9 State adventure

We set out for Florida on May 9th & got back on May 26th! We hooked on our home and took our sweet time driving…here’s a snippet of our adventures.
(Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma)

We headed out the morning of the 8th and stopped at an RV park in Arkansas that bordered Memphis, TN. We visited the Memphis Bass Pro (the big pyramid), the boys floated the Mississippi River in a CANOE!! 😬

From there we headed straight to our RV park destination in Florida and along the way Christian got tired and the 15-year-old took to over the wheel while Christian climbed in the back of the RV to sleep. 😬🤣🤦‍♀️ Matthew drove the truck and camper through Mississippi like a champ, we were both a bit nervous, but he did amazing. Christian didn’t get much rest, the roads were terrible and he said his body was airborne a few times.

Florida was amazing, this was Matthew’s first time and we were staying in the gulf shores area. We came down for a friend’s graduation from Abeka Academy (the homeschool program Matthew has done for years). It was pretty cool to see and experience that, Matthew his excited for his day to graduate from there. Lot’s of friends came down for the graduation too and CRAZY coincidence, my sister Alyssa and her family had planned a vacation to the same place at the same time we were there, we figured that out only weeks prior to us all going so we made plans to hang out together, we did some mini golfing, exploring, sand crab hunting…all kinds of good stuff.

Oh, and Matthew and Christian took the canoe on the ocean too! They also went on a deep sea fishing trip with our friends who came down, something they’ve never done before.

When we came home, we went back through Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma. We stayed a couple spots and explored Louisiana a bit, I think it’s my favorite. We stayed at Caddo lake a little and explored that area.

Such a fun filled trip full of memories and adventure. It’s nice being able to pack up your home and just go and do whatever. 😊
