christian’s big 4-0

If you know Christian, you know he LOVES McDonald’s, so to celebrate his 40th Birthday (I can’t believe we are getting old now), we had a McDonald’s themed party! It was fun, the kids in our lives loved it and it was just a good evening celebrating him with the people we love.

first prom – 10th grade

Matthew is not a dancer nor a fan of going to school dances, but in our community Zion Prep does a homeschool prom for the local homeschool families, Zion Prep kids and they also included our CCA kids. All of his friends went last year and he refused to go, this year, they didn’t let him get away with it. They succeeded in talking him into going. He said it was kinda boring and he didn’t dance at all, but I got some sweet pictures out of the deal.

Evaluated series – 1st one

Obviously I go to the coolest church on the planet. Our youth group held a series that we called the Evaluated Series, focusing on teaching teens how to appropriately evaluate situations in their lives. We opened this up to the community and even had adults attend and benefit from the teaching.

A few of the things we focused on:

  • What to do if you get a flat tire
  • How to check/change your oil
  • Check & change other important fluids/filters in your vehicle
  • Change windshield wipers
  • Planning for your future (career, budget, banking, etc.)

We actually raised our garage doors and pulled cars into our church sanctuary to do this teaching….like I said, coolest church ever!

Take a look at some of the pics.
