Rumeories

Don’t forget to take time to make memories. Sure I had other things I needed to do, but I’ll only have so many moments where my 14-year-old will deal out a deck of cards in hopes I’ll take time to play with him.

I have the best memories of playing rummy with my Gramie. She taught me to play when I was little and we both taught Matthew to play when he was little. I am so thankful that Matthew got an opportunity to know our Gramie and to play rummy with her. It’s a great memory that we both have with our Gramie and we can carry on the tradition that was passed down to us. We miss her so much and our lives have changed drastically since she passed (selling our house, living in a camper full time), but I cherish the moments that we get to remember all of the joy we had with her.

a world of light

We took a family Christmas trip this year to Oklahoma and found a whole world of lights. By far the biggest and best light show we’ve ever seen in Yukon, Oklahoma at their city park. If you ever get the chance to go…do it!

Outside of my childhood, this was one of the most magical Christmas’s we’ve ever had. Taking this trip was the right choice. We ate at some great places, went to the zoo, found the cool light show, chilled in the hot tub, Matthew discovered his love for saunas and we finished the trip off with a FREEZING 🥶 hog hunt at a game farm.

So my two cents of life advice…..climb the big hills because the view is SO worth it. 🏔 Plus, when you get to the top, you can see clearly that there is a nice and easy paved path back down the other side…life is so like that. 😂

my matthew

The young man that this boy is becoming makes me happy and sad all at the same time. He’s grown up way too fast and things have looked so different than I thought they would, but here we are and it’s beautiful.

Always remember that even though your life isn’t always how YOU pictured it, the Master is looking through a different lens. He can see the big picture from beginning to end, so I’ll choose His view over mine every time.
