16 & he’s got all the chicks

Matthew and his friend Ledger decided to start a chicken business this year and they are learning all the things about both meat and egg chickens. They are also learning invaluable lessons about business, having a business partner and how to keep track of income/expenses. I’m super proud of them for all of their hard work cleaning out this old coop and fixing it up to be safe for the chickens and all of the research they’ve done to figure this out. Matthew spends every day at that coop, more than once a day and he will just go and sit in there with the chickens. The one he’s holding in his hand, he just puts his hand on the grand and it will come straight to him and let him pick it up like that.

The moment he brought home his first egg that his chickens hatched was so exciting, he totally wasn’t expecting it that soon and it was such a surprise. The unexpected emotions I felt completely took me by surprise too…..almost as if I just became a grandma. 😂

(Also, the pic of the multi colored chicken….they caught that at an abandoned house) 🤣

His 16th summer is certainly going to be full of life long memories.

16 pizza’s for The 16th party ðŸ¥³

If you know our family, you know we LOVE Hunt Brothers! So we thought it’d be fun this year to order 16 Hunt Brother’s Pizza’s, one for every year Matthew’s been alive. I ordered half at Winston and half at Hamilton. We also got ice cream cake and set up pickle ball in our church to celebrate. A fun way to celebrate a boy that we couldn’t be more proud of. Matthew is such a hard working and helpful young man, he’s sweet and obedient, he loves to be outside doing anything, especially hunting or riding his dirt bikes and he is greatly loved by pretty much every kid and he returns that love to them by being patient and playful. Plus….he’s adorable! Happy Birthday Son.

16th birthday

Matthew is 16 today! We went to the church parking lot this morning to prepare for the drivers test, we had to practice parallel parking real fast. He took his drivers test in Maysville and passed and was done in 7 minutes. Then we went to the DMV and got his license. His first time driving by himself he drove to Cameron Market to get a Prime drink for himself and to give one to a friend. Then he drove to the lake to mow. When he got back his friend Ledger wanted to get him ice cream for his birthday so Matthew drove them to DQ. He had a great birthday and was loved on by all his people.
