Yes, I just made a post yesterday, but today was just as great as yesterday! We rented a canoe this morning and took it out on the lake for the day. We saw several gators and chased them around trying to get close. Turns out, gators are afraid of you and will swim away. We fully enjoyed the beautiful Louisiana creation today.

When we came back home, I sat down to look at the free cookbook we got from Duck Commander yesterday and it was so sweet, because immediately Matthew said he wanted to look at it with me and show me the recipes he liked. Matthew turned every single page of that cookbook and read me the names of the recipes. I could tell he really treasures that cookbook, it was such a sweet moment. I am so glad we took him to Duck Commander.

✅ Well we went. I’ve had this on my list of things to do for a long time. Matthew has basically been raised in Louisiana via Duck Dynasty the past decade…he seriously has watched this show every night for the past ten years. I’m not even exaggerating, we own every season because if we didn’t he’d watch the same season every night….OVER & OVER & OVER. Ask me how I know. 😂 Anyway, I was glad we got the opportunity to take him to Duck Commander, he enjoyed it.

My mom bought a restaurant and it’s truly a full circle moment for our family. When my mom was a teenager she worked at this restaurant, her little sister (my aunt) worked there, I worked there as a teenager, my cousins worked there, my little sisters both worked there and now my brother works there as the manager and my mom just bought it.

This building has had several names over the years, The Hay Loft, Stuart’s Drive In, Girratono Meat Co. and now Allen’s Big A Bistro.

My mom loves to be creative so I’m sure many good changes are coming and I’m sure she will do great because this industry is all about customer service and she’s got that in the bag!
