We are incredibly excited to share that our family has the opportunity to embark on a mission trip to Costa Rica from August 2-12, 2024.
This journey is something we have had on our hearts to do for a very long time. We’ve faithfully served as a family at Passion Church for ten years and while our mission field is here in our community, we’ve always had it on our hearts to go on a mission trip out of the country. This is something we’ve wanted to do as a family and especially for Matthew, we believe this experience will be eye opening for us all!
Our Mission
Since 2020, the suicide rate among children and teens in Costa Rica has alarmingly increased. Many children are left to fend for themselves and care for their younger siblings. Thankfully, Dr. Solomon Kepkey and his wife, Maria Victoria, have been working tirelessly with the Costa Rican government to bring missionaries into schools to spread hope and the love of Jesus Christ. We will be joining them in this vital mission.
Our Goals
- Share the Gospel: We will be reaching out to students in schools across Costa Rica, sharing the love and message of Jesus Christ.
- Community Outreach: Our mission includes hands-on projects like building necessary infrastructure for schools and churches, painting, and other essential tasks to support these communities.
- Personal Growth: This trip will be a life-changing experience for our family, especially our 16-year-old son, who will learn the value of service, compassion, and faith in action.
Our Background
For the past ten years, we have served faithfully in our local church, dedicating our time and resources to various ministries. This mission trip represents the fulfillment of a long-held dream to serve internationally and make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.
Why We Need Your Help
The total cost for our family to participate in this mission trip is $9,081. This amount covers airfare, accommodations, meals, supplies for the community projects, and other essential expenses. We are reaching out to our friends, family, and community to help us raise these funds.
